About The Event
Join Farmer Vishal at Cherry Valley farm for an introduction into the world of mycology! In this workshop you will recieve a short lesson, a tour of the farm, participate in a mushroom innoculation and take home your own garden mushroom. The goal of this workshop is for each of you to walk away with the confidence and knowledge needed to start your own backyard mushroom patch! This workshop will be a broad overview of methods of production but we will be focusing on creating a woodchip patch of winecap mushrooms. Sometimes called wild portobellas, the winecap is a vigorous strain easily grown and easily foraged. The methods used for this particular strain can be adjusted to cultivate other types of mushrooms for easy backyard growing!
